Closs escaped 88 days of captivity — authorities have recognized her suspected captor as 21-year-old Jake Thomas Patterson — after he allegedly murdered her mother and father and kidnapped her. Closs gave neighbors and police an outline of a automobile that Patterson was stated to be driving, and police captured the suspect shortly. Authorities suspect he was driving round, looking for the escaped teen.

Kasinskas stated that three officers initially arrived at her house. They took Closs to security and advised Kristin and her children to get away from any home windows in case the suspected abductor got here to their house.

“My children and I – we went downstairs,” she stated. “My husband was requested to face guard at one of many doorways on the higher flooring. [Patterson] was then arrested not that distant from our home.”

“He didn’t say a complete lot and by no means actually stood out a complete lot to me as a result of he wasn’t tremendous partaking,” Kasinskas stated. “Since then, I didn’t sustain with him. I didn’t even know he lived on this avenue. … I didn’t know he was my neighbor till Jayme stated, ‘Jake took me.’”
